International Journal of Public Health Dentistry (IJPHD) is an Open Access, On-line and Print edition peer reviewed Journal Published Quarterly. IJPHD focusses on the development of public health dentistry through the exploration of related research and practice.The journal aims to provide a significant contribution to the breadth of dental public health, including oral epidemiology, dental health services, behavioral sciences, and the public health practice areas of assessment, review of previous research in the discipline and provide guidance to others conducting research as well as to other dental public health practitioners. The Journal Serves as a platform for the global public health medical & dental professionals to share and communicate their opinions, research findings and survey results to the mass while adhering to the international publishing standards. IJPHD is Committed to the education of Public Health Professionals and decision-makers regarding the importance of oral health to total well-being by its publication of scholarly articles; and also strives to expand the existing knowledge database of Dental Public Health to foster competency in its current and future practice.
The aim of IJPHD is to serve as a free-zone for scientifically based information in Public Health Dentistry, with the intention of continually expanding the knowledge data base in this Special Medical field. The scope is therefore broad; ranging from original studies in epidemiology, behavioral sciences related to dentistry, and health services research through to methodological reports in program planning, implementation and evaluation. The journal encourages manuscripts which present methodologically detailed scientific research findings from original data collection or analysis of existing databases. Preference is given to innovative research findings. Confirmations of previous findings can be of value, but the journal seeks to avoid needless repetition.
The journal also encourages thoughtful, provocative commentaries on subjects ranging from research methods to public policies. Purely descriptive reports are not encouraged, nor are behavioral science reports with only marginal application to dentistry. With the global availability of Internet access, this electronic on-line open access version of IJPHD has several positive points.
